Vinod Kumar, Managing Director & CEO, Subex, said “FY22 has been a significant year in terms of evolving our portfolio to align with our growth aspirations. The financial results, which have been below our expectations, are not a true reflection of our progress across the last 12 months. HyperSense AI, our muti-persona AI/ML platform, has made its mark, and we are seeing excellent traction from customers. The platform has also received multiple accolades, as well as recognition from the media and analyst community.

With HyperSense, our core solutions have now been equipped with the power of AI/ML capabilities to enable CSPs to tackle challenges as they move towards newer technologies like 5G and IoT. Even though the transition to subscription-based engagements has taken more time for contracting than we originally anticipated, we have secured several contracts during the last quarter, resulting in a good increase in contracted bookings. We expect this trend to continue and hope to secure more important contracts during this quarter.

We have also made good progress in our new area of Sectrio. Sectrio, our security solution, now covers OT Security in addition to IoT security. This has helped us play in a significantly large and growing market and add new customers across the banking, manufacturing, transport, and mining verticals.

While the transition from a license to a subscription model for our core products will come with short-term financial impact, we are confident that directionally it is the right thing to do. The swelling contracted backlog is a validation of that effect. During the course of FY23, along with migrating our existing customers onto our new platform, we intend to increase market share for our new solutions on HyperSense AI, as well as for Sectrio. Our vision is to enrich lives with AI-led Digital Trust, and we will focus our efforts to make it happen.”

Helps telecom operators process data at the edge to mitigate risks proactively

15th September 2021, Bengaluru, India: Subex, a pioneer in enabling Digital Trust, today announced it has broken new ground by now extending its revenue maximization capabilities to the network edge. This marks a significant achievement for the company as it will now be able to help telecom operators and subscribers to take actions proactively and prevent fraud faster and accurately by arresting it at the source. This also signifies an important milestone in the company’s 5G roadmap. Towards this, Subex announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company’s patent application no. 11108914.

With this patent, Subex moves revenue maximization to the edge, thereby setting standards for operators to proactively identify monetization opportunities. At the same time, it will now move a step closer to detecting and preventing risks such as digital fraud to prevent damage before it happens.

Moving revenue maximization to the edge marks a significant development for the industry as a whole. As the telecom industry accelerates its journey to 5G and opens new revenue streams from the enterprise domain, mobile edge computing will become imperative for operators to make decisions faster, with enhanced reliability and agility. This has, further, made it mission-critical for operators to move their revenue maximization efforts closer to their subscribers, to the edge to truly leverage the potential opportunities provided by 5G and prevent any associated risks.

Through this patent, Subex will now be able to help operators:

  • Enable better and faster decision-making and risk prevention at the source of the problem
  • Proactively identify monetization opportunities
  • Prevent exposures to digital fraud at the user equipment level
  • Provide seamless customer experience

“The telecom industry has been a key enabler of digitalization, which has only accelerated as 5G becomes mainstream. 5G revolves around decentralization of the network, and today, a lot of computing and management happens at the edge. It is now imperative for operators to move decision-making closer to the source, i.e., the end user’s equipment in order to ensure competitive advantage. This patent gives us the ability to reach that edge, and thereby enhances the capabilities and effectiveness of our Business Assurance and Fraud Management product set,” said Vinod Kumar, Managing Director and CEO, Subex. “The issuance of this patent is another step in our journey to be the world leader in enabling Digital Trust.”

“We are proud to be selected as a strategic partner for Dhiraagu. They were the first operator to provide 5G in South Asia commercially and have been at the forefront of many digital transformation projects in the region. To be successful in their journey, Dhiraagu is currently undertaking a major internal IT transformation, as part of which is looking to upgrade to advanced analytical tools. This makes it very important for them to ensure their processes are built on a foundational layer of Digital Trust, by deploying a credible solution that can scale to their business needs and future proof their investments. Subex proved to be an obvious choice for Dhiraagu, based on their customer base in the region, and we are excited to support them as their Digital Trust partner in their journey to improve people’s lives through digital technology,” Shankar Roddam, Chief Operating Officer, and Whole-Time Director, Subex, said.

Commenting on the partnership, Robin Wall, Chief Financial Officer, Dhiraagu said, “It is vital for us to partner with a software provider who understands our industry, our unique differentiation in the market, and our specific challenges. We are happy to work with Subex who has over 25 years of telecom domain expertise with proven success and the technical leadership required for this project. As we accelerate our efforts to increase the adoption of 5G, and launch new services, it was important for us to work with a partner who had the right set of solutions and expertise to help us in this journey. We firmly believe that their capabilities on the Business Assurance and Fraud Management front, coupled with their innovation quotient in the AI/ML space, will provide us the confidence that they will be able to effectively support and safeguard our business, services and customers.”
