LONDON, UK – Subex Ltd, a leading global provider of operations and business support systems (OSS/BSS) for communications service providers, announced today that it has won a deal from one of Europe’s leading mobile solutions company to provide its ROC Partner Settlement solution in a managed services format.

Subex’s ROC Partner Settlement solution was chosen for its superior technical capability, consistent delivery and proven track record. With this solution, the European mobile solutions provider will see the inbound and outbound success for its customer’s campaign.

ROC Partner Settlement allows operators to quickly and accurately settle charges with their network and content partners. It enables operators to manage costs and revenues on interconnect and partner agreements with domestic and international operators as well as content partners on a day-to-day, and hour-to-hour basis.

Subex has more than 60 installations of ROC Partner Settlement across the globe and is amongst the top 2 interconnect players in the industry.

LONDON, UK – Subex Limited, a leading global provider of operations and business support systems (OSS/BSS) for communications service providers announced today the launch of their Payment Channel Assurance solution, a packaged solution offering based on their industry-leading ROC solution suite.

According to a report from KPMG*, prepaid is the largest and most vulnerable revenue stream for a majority of operators. Prepaid revenue represents around 90% of total revenue of many operators in emerging markets and since prepaid CSPs operate in real-time, they require more dynamic revenue assurance procedures to limit losses. In such a scenario, assuring processes around cash management activities plays an important role because of the increase in number of payment channels and the complexity involved in customer payment transactions and cash management processes.

The Payment Channel Assurance solution uses control systems and processes based on its advanced analytics techniques to accurately reconcile and report customer payment transactions and adjustments in a service provider organization. Its advanced analytics and data visualization approach enables service providers in automating the validation of processes around the back end of cash management activities such as validation of fees and charges associated from direct and indirect Partners.

By adopting Payment Channel Assurance, service providers can ensure that all the payments posted in their billing systems and POS (point of sale) systems are valid and complete and all the payment channels are aligned with billing and general ledger. The solution enables intelligent decision making by accurately managing data reported across all payment channels, banks, merchant service providers, and other service vendors.

“The Payment Channel Assurance solution will enable service providers to substantially improve their operational and financial controls around customer payment transactions and cash management processes, giving them unprecedented, near-real-time visibility into their cash flows”, said Mark Nicholson, Chief Technology Officer at Subex.

He further added, “This is an existing solution which we have already implemented at a leading mobile phone carrier that serves more than 5 million customers across the United States.”

Payment Channel Assurance is market ready.

LONDON, UK – Subex Ltd, a leading global provider of operations and business support systems (OSS/BSS) for communications service providers, announced that it presented the ROC™ Fraud Management System for Swisscom implemented using an innovative commercial Buyer/Vendor Risk Reward Share (RRS) Model in Fraud Management at the GSMA Fraud Forum. The GSMA (Global Systems for Mobile Communications Association) Fraud Forum was held in Dubai on 1-3 February.

Risk Reward Sharing Models in the Telecom Industry is not a new topic; however it’s unique for the area of Fraud Management. The model was agreed between Swisscom and Subex in 2009 for Subex’s ROC™ Fraud Management Solution and has been working successfully since then. The key concept of this innovative commercial model is to have the vendor share the same business objectives as the operator. This is done by sharing a percentage of the prevented fraud losses which are automatically calculated within Subex’s ROC™ Fraud Management System based on some pre-defined calculation formula for each of the fraud types monitored as part of the operators risk matrix.

The initiative started because Swisscom wanted to protect itself and its customers with the best fraud management solution possible.  Subex won the competitive tender but Swisscom’s senior management wanted to explore the possibility of a contract which would reduce up-front CAPEX spending and add a reward element based on the amount of prevented fraud losses.  The commercial and operational requirements were brought together in a model that rewards Subex for detecting all types of fraud as early as possible and for working with Swisscom to stop it.

This partnership has been running since 2009 and in 2010 won the internal Swisscom “Supplier Award for Innovation”.

The partnership initiative is continuing with no fixed end date.

“Successful Fraud Management for an operator is about detecting fraud and implementing counter measures to stop fraud losses as quickly as possible. Our ROC™ Fraud Management solution is helping Swisscom accomplish this whilst helping them meet additional strategic and financial objectives,” said Sudeesh Yezhuvath, COO, Subex Ltd.  “The success of the whole programme was recognized by Swisscom in 2010 with their supplier innovation award and we are pleased to have share this innovative commercial model at the GSMA Fraud Forum.”

LONDON, UK – Subex Ltd, a leading global provider of operations and business support systems (OSS/BSS) for communications service providers, announced that it has successfully completed implementation of its industry leading ROC Fraud Management solution for a wireless operator in the Middle East. Subex is also providing this operator with its ROC Revenue Assurance solution. Both solutions are provided to the costumer in a Managed Services model.

These two solutions were chosen by the wireless operator at an early stage resulting in the ROC Fraud Management implementation showing good results. This implementation was delivered on-time and within the budget and the ROC Revenue Assurance implementation is also nearing completion.

The Subex ROC Fraud Management solution helps the wireless operator eliminate known frauds, uncover new fraud patterns, minimize fraud run time, augment internal controls and support continuous fraud management process improvement. Because the solution was chosen early on, the wireless provider has quickly gained benefits; such as rapid return on investment and increased productivity and efficiency, by significantly reducing the complexity of the fraud investigation process.

“Subex is running the services for the wireless provider with our own engineers on site to ensure operations run smoothly,” said Sudeesh Yezhuvath, COO, Subex Ltd. “A successful on-time and within budget implementation is testament to our hard work and dedication to our customers. Choosing to have both our ROC for Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management solutions in a Managed Services model ensures maximum protection and revenue optimization for our customer.”
